I want to go to Abilene Christian University

How awesome is Abilene CU? In addition to all the swag you get when you sign up during freshman orientation - their students got the choice of an iPhone 3G or iPod Touch.

All I got my freshman year was a stadium seat foam thing and 15 extra pounds!

I love the iPhone and having on demand internet access as so very much enhanced my life - I can't imagine how cool it would be for an incoming student. One quote from a student in the article:

"I use it in four of my five classes," says Halie Davis, a teenager from Rankin, in west Texas, who chose the iPhone. "If your teacher says 'get out your iPhone and look up a word' you can do a Google search or check Wikipedia on the Internet. It's really fast."

This is precisely why I purchased my first smart phone. Having the freedom to post to my schools discussion boards from where ever I was (ski slope, stuck in traffic in CT on the way back from vacation). Looking up directions, emailing, taking photos and posting on Flickr, Twittering to a preselected group - all made easier. All without having to lug my laptop around, without having to find a cyber cafe (so old school, meh).

Hopefully we will not have to wait much longer for the Android platform to come out, as I foresee many more apps being developed for that phone.
